The Crystallin project involved the renovation of the old Grand Lyon Habitat headquarters, while maintaining a few of its remarkable architectural features.
Part of the original building was preserved, while part of it was raised and given an extension. In all two thirds of the existing building’s area was rebuilt. Energy performance was improved by renovating the façade. The block has planted terraces and a central open garden area giving it a strong green identity. New modular open plan offices offer the service sector greater freedom. Architectural heritage has not been forgotten. The monumental indoor staircase was enhanced.
